Extension Programs
UNNE-SALUD, is a Central Program of the Universidad Nacional del Nordeste University coordinated by the General University Extension office, which began its activities at the end of 2008.
The objective of the Program is to act directly to the health care of the most vulnerable groups of people and the greatest social disadvantages. From an integral approach that affects not only the quality of life but also generates a change in the way of conceiving one's reality.
The importance of developing a Health Program coordinated by the General University Extension lies in the fact that the Extension is the quintessential link between the university community and society, and that the feedback that arises from this link will generate a proposal for change that may ultimately have an impact not only on improving the quality of life in the region but also on generating a commitment to solidarity in shaping a different reality from a comprehensive humanistic framework with the active participation of different social actors. The social responsibility of the university implies much more than specific activities for certain beneficiaries, it implies preparing a comprehensive action plan that includes not only the early detection of diseases, treatment and rehabilitation, but also implies understanding "health as a whole" where the appreciation of the human being through their participation in social change is the tool that leads to a better quality of life in the region.

"We consider extension as a space for cooperation between the university and other actors in the society of which it is part. This area must contribute to the improvement of people's quality of life and is linked to the social purpose of Higher Education: social democratization, social justice and the right to universal education; all these are materialized through concrete actions with social organizations, government organizations and other community institutions, from multi and interdisciplinary perspectives mainly. National Interuniversity Council. Plenary Agreement No. 811/12
"THE UNIVERSITY IN THE SOCIETY" program promotes the development of extension projects, considering them as workplaces with the State in its different jurisdictions and with various actors of the community, addressing the most diverse and complex social and productive problems, in a given territory. The extension actions are developed from an interactive and dialogical approach between scientific knowledge and the knowledge and the needs of the participating community.
The activities are carried out by technical teams made up of professors, students, graduates, and non-teaching staff from all the faculties and institutes of the university, together with provincial, national and international, public or private organizations and institutions.
