Funding
The program has initial funding from a project called “Development and Strengthening of institutional capacities for the assistance of disabled people in the Universidad Nacional del Nordeste University Project”, approved in 2015 – 2016 Academic accessibility call named “YOU CAN” of the National University Policy Secretary.

"Universidad del Sol" Program
"In the Universidad del Sol University, you can!"
This program is aimed to provide vocational guidance and support to high school students attending their last year to continue the higher level of education.
To achieve this, all the information about the careers the university offers and their tuition payment-free policy and the benefits for the students is provided. The students are guided on the process of application for their chosen career and the access to scholarships offered by UNNE and the Nation.

About the Program:
This project began in 2015 as a pilot experience and it is still offered to all high school students their last year in the provinces of Chaco and Corrientes.
The proposal for students’ guidance and support consists of 8 face-to-face consecutive meetings on Saturdays that last3-hour each. The meetings are leaded by tutors from different faculties and tutors from high schools in the workshop modality, and virtual assistance through UNNE virtual classroom.
Objectives
- Supporting access to UNNE through actions that favor the candidate’s necessary knowledge to contribute to their effective insertion to university studies.
- Complementing and supporting the work strategies with new students of every academic unit.
- Intensifying the articulation processes between the high school level in Chaco and Corrientes.
University and high school. Improving Improvements for Exact and Natural Sciences Training.
This three-year project (2014-2016) funded by the Secretary of University Policies, has the general objective of promoting the improvement of exact sciences, natural sciences, and technology teaching quality. In this teaching team, teachers from the School of Engineering, School of Natural and Exact Sciences, and Surveying collaborate with other teachers and students from 22 high schools from the province of Corrientes.

NEXOS program from the subprogram called "College and Highschool" belongs to the Secretary of University Policies Dependent of the National Ministry of Education, which approved two projects called "UNNE and high school education in Chaco and Corrientes jurisdictions”. The articulation is through a regional perspective in an effort to democratize Superior Education access" and the pilot experience "UNNE: collaborative work around the meanings and practices of Academic Tutoring in High schools from Chaco and Corrientes"
The projects were developed through 2018 and their aims were to strengthen the articulation processes between UNNE academic units and 70 high schools in the provinces of Chaco and Corrientes to contribute to college education access democratization.
The program was approved under Resolution No. 733/10 by the Upper University Council of the Universidad Nacional del Nordeste University in 2010, and it started to be implemented in 2011. This policy is looking forward to responding to the needs and solving the problems of the region where the university is located.
Strands of action of the program:
- Inclusion of Indigenous Peoples to university careers through scholarships and educational consulting.
- Professional training and updating courses specialized in higher education and Indigenous Peoples for teachers, researchers, and students of the university.
- Design and implementation of Extension Projects according to the community demands and Indigenous Peoples organizations of the region.
- Promotion and consolidation of intra- and inter-institutional research teams focus on Indigenous Peoples.
- Design and consultation of a curricular complementation proposal for indigenous teachers of the province of Chaco.
University scholarships
The program grants scholarships to support the access of indigenous peoples to university careers, and not only for their access but their stay and graduation, too.
Requirements for application
All the students who are interested in accessing the Program scholarships must gather the following documentation:
- Proof of enrollment in a university career.
- A letter of recommendation of an indigenous community organization from their place of origin.
- Filled application form to register as an applicant for a Fellow of the Indigenous Peoples Program.
- Photocopy of the National Identity Document.
- Photocopy of the certificate of completion of the Secondary Level.
- Certificate of domicile issued by the Police od the Province of Chaco.
Enrollment
The enrollment period runs from the first to the last working day of December every year.
Duration
The scholarship will last 10 months a year (from February to November) for the duration of the undergraduate degree in which the student is enrolled, according to the study plan.
Selection Criteria
- Applicants should have completed the secondary school level: a certificate of complete secondary studies is required (with the legend ALL SUBJECTS PASS).
- Equity will be sought concerning the locality of origin of the applicants, rural or urban, in the province of Chaco.
- Those who have completed the Secondary Level in the year before to admission will have priority.
- If the places are not covered, the entrance of those who have completed high school in previous years without an age limit will be made possible.
Since June 2011 until now, 302 scholarships have been granted to indigenous young and adults who are attending careers at the Faculties of Economic Sciences, Humanities and Social Sciences, Architecture, Engineering, Arts, Medicine, and Law.
There are currently students at the Corrientes and Resistencia headquarters, and at the headquarters in the interior of Chaco, Juan José Castelli, General Pinedo and the CRES of General San Martín.
There are enrolled students at the two main university branches in Resistencia and Corrientes, and the branches located at the inland of province of Chaco such as Castelli, General Pinedo, and General San Martin.
This program already has three graduates. The first woman is graduated in Information Sciences from the College for Humanities, and the other one is graduated in Nursing from the branch located in General Pinedo, and also, there is another graduate in Law, from College for Law, Social Sciences, and Politics.
The program provides pedagogical support to scholarship students through educational consultant pairs. These educational consultants are advanced students who receive specific training to develop their roles and can guide the indigenous students during their academic training.
The program has consultants in all careers assisting and supporting indigenous students. The assistance and support are carried out with regular meetings in groups or individually to meet the specific demands of the students.
